One of the main issues encountered in the mathematical and computational modeling of 2D heterostructures is that lattice mismatch and rotations between the layers destroys the periodic character of the system. We will present a general formulation to model and compute the electronic density of states and conductivity by sampling over the local configurations in both real space and momentum space.
