On the 5-Vertex Model

Richard Kenyon

This is based on joint work with Istvan Prause, Jan de Gier and Sam Watson. We study the “5-vertex model”, a generalization of the lozenge tiling model, or monotone non-intersecting lattice path model, where each lattice path gets a weight per corner. We compute the free energy, surface tension, and some probabilities.
