Data, detection, and metrics for autonomous vehicles

The autonomous vehicle (AV) stack implements a mapping from sensor signals to vehicle controls. In this talk I discuss some key aspects of this mapping: designing an appropriate objective function and the object detection problem. I also discuss nuScenes: our contribution to the open AV development environment.
