Tensors in Statistics and Data Analysis

Anna Seigal
University of Oxford

I will give an overview of tensors as they arise in settings in statistics and data analysis. These include tensors of probabilities, tensors of biological measurements, and signature tensors, which can be used to encode time-series data. We will see the tensor decompositions that arise, and their algebraic properties.
