Applications of sampling theory in tomography include the identification of efficient sampling schemes; a qualitative understanding of some artifacts; numerical analysis of
reconstruction methods; and efficient interpolation schemes for non-equidistant sampling. We discuss the use of efficient
sampling schems in two-dimensional tomography and an application of periodic sampling theorems in three-dimensional multisclice helical tomography.
