ChemExpress is new database which integrates information relating to small molecules and their affects on the proteome. Connections are made between compounds and potential targets through two integrated mechanisms: 1) a standard data model of compound activities that is applicable to all forms of assays, from enzymatic and binding measurements though in vivo animal models; and 2) a robust system for storing and analyzing microarray data, regardless of the platform generating it. The ChemExpress system models these four domains in an integrated Oracle 8i database. Reports and queries are available through an interfaces built for standard internet browsers. This talk will provide an overview of ChemExpress along with details of advanced data modeling, architecture and statistical analysis.
