Introns interrupt almost every eukaryotic protein-coding gene, yet there is little understanding of how perturbations of the splicing apparatus affect removal of the many introns in eukaryotic genomes. We have designed oligonucleotide microarrays that discriminate intron-containing transcripts from spliced transcripts, and used them to monitor splicing in the yeast S. cerevisiae.
