The structure of singularities in mean curvature flow of mean convex sets in 3-dimensions.

I will discuss the formation of singularities in mean curvature flow of surfaces with positive mean curvature. Roughly speaking, the results confirm the naive picture that the only singularities are neck pinches and components which collapse to asymptotically round spheres. This is joint work with Toby Colding.
