Numerical multiscale techniques for fusion

We will give three examples of numerical multiscale techniques that can
be applied to plasma simulations. The first is the classical shock capturing technique with MHD applicability. The other two are more recent: numerical delta function approximations to the coupling of fields and particle trajectories and finally the general framework of heterogeneous multiscale methods.
