Proton and X-ray tomography: Image analysis successes and challenges

Tom Asaki

CCS-2

Particle beam tomography is a rich testing ground for
connecting theoretical image analysis with experiments
and simulations. This talk will introduce several
tomography efforts at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Emphasis will be placed on difficulties of data
interpretation and principled data inversion. Many
examples of single and multiple view tomography will
illustrate the use of prior information and expectation
(often) in the form of regularizers.
