Entropy Based Discretization Methods for the Boltzmann Equations and Quantum Mechanical Corrections

Kinetic transport equations involve the competition of antisymmetric
(Hamiltonian) and dissipative (entropic) operators. This talk will address
ways to exploit this structure in deterministic discretization methods for
kinetic transport equations. We will discuss standard examples of the
Boltzmann - Poisson system under the mean field assumption, moment methods and quantum corrections to classical transport equations.
