This presentation focuses on describing the basic multiple comparison problem encountered in many different neuroimaging applications and various approaches to resolving this problem. We will describe Random Field Theory (RFT), a technique to control Family Wise Error Rate (FWER) in some detail, comparing it to permutation methods. We will also describe some of the basic ideas of the False Discovery Rate (FDR), as yet another approach to resolve this problem.
