Anastassia Alexandrova Awarded Max Planck-Humboldt Medal

Anastassia Alexandrova, Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UCLA, has been selected to receive the prestigious Max Planck-Humboldt Medal, which honors extraordinary scientists outside Germany. The Research Award was designed to incentivize particularly innovative international researchers to conduct research stays at academic institutions in Germany. The medal will be awarded jointly by Germany’s Max Planck Gesellschaft and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and presented to Alexandrova at a ceremony in Berlin in November 2022. Professor Alexandrova has participated as a speaker in IPAM’s 2017 workshop, Optimization and Optimal Control for Complex Energy and Property Landscapes and 2016 workshop, Collective Variables in Quantum Mechanics. She was also a core participant of IPAM’s 2011 long program Navigating Chemical Compound Space for Materials and Bio Design.
