The 2014 Class of SIAM Fellows includes several “alumni” of IPAM long programs: Inderjit Dhillon (Search Engines, 2007); Mitchell Luskin (Nanoscale Science, 2002, and Materials Defects, 2012); and Bernd Sturmfels (Optimization, 2010). Additionally, Dorit Hochbaum and Suncica Canic have been speakers at IPAM workshops. SIAM Fellows are nominated by peers for their distinguished contributions to the fields of applied mathematics and computational science and related disciplines. They will be recognized at the 2014 SIAM Annual Meeting to be held in Chicago in July.
