PROGRAM SUMMARY:

The Directorate for Biological Sciences (BIO) of the National Science Foundation offers postdoctoral research fellowships in selected areas of biology to provide opportunities for recent doctoral scientists to obtain additional training, to gain research experience under the sponsorship of established scientists, and to broaden their scientific horizons beyond their research experiences during their undergraduate or graduate training. The goal of this program is to provide training to young scientists in preparation for careers in biological informatics in which research and education will be integrated.
