Apply for Funding
IPAM offers funding to individuals who will make significant contributions to the program. Funding offers for workshops and tutorial sessions include travel
and hotel accommodations. Long program participants typically receive travel and a monthly housing allowance. Occasionally, IPAM pays a stipend or arranges
for a "buy out" with the participant's home institution.
To apply, follow the link to the page for that program and then click on "application." For each applicant, we require the completed online application form,
a CV, and for junior applicants, one or two letters of reference sent directly to IPAM. Please ask your referees send their letters to the email address for
the program that is listed on the program's home page. The program coordinator will put them directly in your file. The preferred electronic format for
resume/CV submissions is Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF).
The applications for long programs are reviewed periodically and successfully applicants notified as decisions are made. Those for workshops are reviewed
approximately 6 weeks prior to the workshop dates; successful applicants are notified by email and are asked to confirm their participation by registering
for the workshop online.
Non-US citizens are eligible to apply for funding. However, if you are in the U.S. on an H1-B visa, we must reimburse your airfare and accommodations and
pay your stipend (if any) through your host institution. If you are offered funding, the visa coordinator will talk to you about visa issues.
