Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics

Research in Industrial Projects for Students (“RIPS”) Program

Projects Day

August 23, 2001

Location:  IPAM Building at UCLA

Projects Day is sponsored in part by a grant from the University of California Life Science Informatics Program.

We would like to announce Projects Day at the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM). This event will take place on Thursday, August 23, 2001 from 8:45 to 4:00pm at IPAM on the UCLA campus. Projects Day is part of our Research in Industrial Projects for Students (“RIPS”) program, which is in its inaugural year. RIPS is a program that teams top level undergraduate students selected from a national pool with Industry sponsored projects. We are very fortunate this year to have four companies participating as sponsors, Arete, Digital Domain, HRL, and Protein Pathways. Projects Day will feature presentations from the student teams alternating with innovative and exciting talks by distinguished scientists from academia and industry. The following is the agenda.
