Hotel Accommodations and Air Travel

If you are offered financial support and are not a US Citizen or Resident Alien, you must enter the country on the appropriate visa to be reimbursed for hotel and travel expenses. Similarly, if you will be on an H1-B visa at the time of the program, please let us know immediately since there are restrictions and arrangements must be made in advance with your visa sponsor.

Hotel Accommodations:
Funded participants and speakers: IPAM has blocked up to 30 rooms for this workshop at UCLA Tiverton House for funded participants and speakers. Upon your request and subject to availability, the program coordinator can reserve a room for you at this hotel and IPAM will pay the bill directly. Check-in will begin at 3:00 pm on Sunday and check-out concludes at noon on Friday, but an additional night may be arranged. Tiverton House is located adjacent to campus, a short walk from IPAM. The UCLA shuttle bus stops near its main entrance. If you wish to stay at Tiverton House, please send us an email no later than one month before the start date with the exact dates of your arrival and departure; participants staying for five nights will be given preference. Otherwise, we will assume you will make your own hotel reservations (see below). As IPAM will be charged for the room if you do not use it, please be sure to notify IPAM immediately if your plans change.

We also have reserved a block of rooms at a special rate of $139/night (around $158 with tax) at Hotel Angeleno in Brentwood. It is located about a mile from IPAM just off the 405 Freeway at the Sunset exit; a shuttle bus will be arranged to transport you to IPAM each morning.

In order to maintain this advantageous rate for all of our participants, we ask you to stay at the Hotel Angeleno if at all possible. Rooms will be blocked until November 13, 2006.

Airline Travel:
Please note the following guidelines for your travel reimbursement. Federal regulations require that travelers must book and ticket their flight through a US carrier. This means that your flight must either be on a US airline, or if operated by a foreign airline the ticket must be issued by a US airline partner. Subject to this requirement, you should endeavor to obtain the best direct route, economy, round trip fare. If you are unable to find a ticket at an appropriate price, contact us before booking. Information on our policies and guidelines for visas, travel, and reimbursements is on our website. We strongly suggest you review this information as needed. Please contact our visa coordinator office for any visa related questions.

If you need assistance with your travel arrangements you can contact the UCLA Travel Office at (800) 235-UCLA or visit their website.
