Ramanujan graphs and the Weil Conjectures

I will begin by reviewing the relationship between
1.) bad reduction of Shimura curves and Ramanujan graphs and
2.) good reduction of Shimura curves and Ramanujan graphs.
I will then discuss problems for more general curves and abelian varieties over finite fields suggested by these.
