On this first day of our IPAM workshop, “Rotating Turbulence: Interplay and Separability of Bulk and Boundary Dynamics," the speakers will provide a set of overview talks in hopes of laying out a superstructural framework that we, as a group, can drill down into over the rest of the week. In the first of these overview talks, I will do my best to provide an uber-overview that touches on the workshop’s various topical focus points and also attempts to create ties amongst them in hopes of facilitating as much cross-topic discussion as is possible.
