Factorization Methods in Inverse Scattering Theory

Abstract: We will report on a new class of methods for solving the
inverse scattering problem for acoustic, electromagnetic or elastic
time-harmonic waves. These methods avoid solving a sequence of direct
problems. We will discuss their advantages as well as the
disadvantages.
