Intelligent transportation system (ITS) is the future of mobility in urban cities and its key characteristic is cyber-physical-social connectivity. This makes ITS particularly vulnerable to cyber-attacks. In this talk, we will discuss resilience of transportation systems against cyber-threats. Specifically, we will focus on system-theoretic algorithms that exploit redundancies in physical and social data in ITS. We will discuss two algorithms: Algorithm 1 that utilizes microscopic models for a vehicle platoon and Algorithm 2 utilizes a combination of microscopic and macroscopic models. Both of these algorithms effectively combine aforementioned models, system-theoretic techniques and social signal informatics to detect occurrences of cyber-threats.
