Some recent work on the volume, f-vector, and Ehrhart polynomial of certain polytopes

We will survey some recent work of graduate students on computing explicitly the volume, f-vector, and Ehrhart polynomial of certain combinatorially defined convex polytopes. Some connections with such areas as noncommutative algebra and representation theory will be explained.
