Particle and Kinetic Models for Flocking

In this talk, I will discuss dissipative particle and kinetic models arising from the modeling of flocking and synchronization phenomena. In particular, I will focus on the flocking model introduced by Cucker and Smale. I will also present how the flocking theory can be applied to the synchronization of some phase models arising from statistical mechanics.
