Introduction to MRA representations in Euclidean spaces

I will provide an overview of some the recent developments in the area of wavelet-like pyramidal representations in multiple dimensions. In doing so, I will introduce and discuss the three competing ways for evaluating the representation: speed (of the decomposition and reconstruction algorithms), localness (on the space side), and performance (which is related to localness on the frequency side).
