Christian Ringhofer

Quantum transport in geometries with extreme aspect ratios can be described on large time scales using anisotropic energy relaxation mechanisms. We discuss the general principles underlying the maximum entropy closure formalism and application to extremely thin semiconductor devices and ion channels.
