Abstract

The polynomial method and incidence geometry

Miguel Walsh

University of Buenos Aires

The polynomial method is a ubiquitous tool in analysis to handle problems with an algebraic flavour, with applications ranging from number theory to theoretical computer science, harmonic analysis and transcendence theory. In this talk, we will explain this method with an emphasis on its applications to incidence geometry.
