Slender Elastic Bodies and Skin Friction

We will briefly describe the formulation and linear
analysis of a slender elastic body in the presence of a naive
approximation to the effects of surface or skin friction. Conjectures regarding the general compatibility of surface friction will then be discussed in the context of biologically relavant conditions.
