This four hour tutorial is an introduction to the new world driven by radically-falling DNA sequencing costs:
10,000-fold in the last four years. The major current and near-future sequencing platforms will be described, with a detailed examination of Illumina's Solexa, currently the most popular. An overview of downstream analysis and biological applications --- including alignment/re-sequencing, _de novo_ assembly, mRNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, BS-Seq, and HiC --- forms the second half.
