Established in 2002, the Blackwell-Tapia Conference honors the work of mathematicians David H. Blackwell and Richard A. Tapia who inspired a generation of African American and Latino/Latina students to pursue careers in the mathematical sciences. The seventh Blackwell-Tapia Prize will be presented at the 2014 conference, which will be held at IPAM. Nominees should be mathematicians who have contributed significantly to their field of research and serve/served as role models for mathematicians from underrepresented minority groups. To nominate a mathematician for the prize, please email Robert Megginson at meggin@umich.edu by February 28, 2014.
