Call for Nominations: Blackwell Tapia Prize
The Blackwell-Tapia Prize honors the legacy of Drs. David Blackwell and Richard Tapia. Their profound research contributions, dedicated mentoring, and energetic leadership of the mathematical sciences are a model and inspiration for future generations.
Nominations are solicited for the 2026 prize, which will be awarded at the Blackwell-Tapia conference to be held at Rice University in December 2026. Nominees should be mathematical scientists who have influenced and contributed significantly to research in their fields of expertise; outstanding mentors with a demonstrated record of developing mathematical sciences talent wherever it may be found, including underserved communities; and recognized or emerging leaders in the mathematical sciences community.
Nominations should include a letter addressing the eligibility requirements, along with a CV of the nominee. Additional letters of support may be included, but are not required. Nominations should be sent by e-mail to Brendan Hassett at brendan_hassett@brown.edu by August 15, 2026.
