Two RIPS–Los Angeles teams were recognized for Outstanding Posters at the 2018 Joint Mathematics Meeting in San Diego!  One poster is titled “Automatic Conflict Detection in Police Body Worn Video” which was presented by Jelena Trisovic.  Jelena worked with teammates Collin Cademartori, Xi Chen, and Alistair Letcher.  Their project sponsor was the Los Angeles Police Department and their academic mentor was Jason Xu.  The other winning poster is “Graph Representations of Atomic Structures for Materials Data Analysis” presented by Montie Avery and Ruth Lopez.  Montie, Ruth, and fellow team members Jeremiah Flannery and Miroslav Stankovic had Los Alamos National Laboratory as their project sponsor and Jonny Dadras as their academic advisor.  The Joint Mathematics Meeting was held on January 10-12, 2018 and was a great opportunity for many RIPS students to participate and present their work.
