Quasisymmetric uniformization asks when a given metric space is quasisymmetrically equivalent to some standard space. A major motivation comes from Cannon's conjecture which ask when a hyperbolic group which acts topologically as a Kleinian group is in fact a Kleinian group. This talk is meant to give an introduction/overview.
