Virtual Talk: Topics in mathematical general relativity II

Stefanos Aretakis
University of Toronto

In the second lecture, we will present the black hole stability problem. We will present the model problem of the linear wave equation and discuss the main difficulties that appear in its analysis. We will present results for both the extremal and the subextremal case and explain the role of the Newman-Penrose constants. We will also present the main non-linear results in this direction.
