What are the pathways of protein folding? Can we use that information to develop better conformational search methods for protein structure prediction algorithms. We have explored master-equation methods for understanding the transition states of fast folding proteins. And we are exploring how proteins may reduce their conformational search spaces by zipping processes. We believe these methods may speed up conformational searching in protein folding algorithms.
