Congratulations to Iuliana Tabian (Imperial College London) and Emmanuel Antonio Cuevas (Universidad de Guanajuato) for winning Best Poster Award at the 1st International Workshop on Advanced Machine Vision for Real-life and Industrially Relevant Applications (AMV2018).  Tabian and Cuevas, along with their teammates Osman Akar (UCLA) and Hallee Wong (Williams College) participated in IPAM’s Research in Industrial Projects for Students (RIPS) program in 2018.  Their poster, entitled “Markerless Augmented Advertising for Sports Videos,” was the result of their work last summer as members of the GumGum team, with Shantanu Joshi (UCLA) and Cambron Carter (GumGum) serving as mentors.  The workshop was held in Perth, Australia from December 2 – 6, 2018.  AMV2018 was a pre-conference workshop of the Asian Conference on Computer Vision (ACCV2018).
