Eskin, Geman elected to National Academy of Sciences

On April 28, the National Academy of Sciences announced the election of 84 new members and 21 foreign associates in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research. Newly elected members include two IPAM speakers and organizers.  Alexander Eskin (professor, department of mathematics, University of Chicago) was a core participant and speaker in the 2013 IPAM program, Interaction Between Analysis and Geometry.  Donald Geman (professor, department of applied mathematics and statistics, Johns Hopkins University) was an organizer and speaker in the 2013 Graduate Summer School on Computer Vision.
