IPAM Trustee Tatiana Toro Awarded Guggenheim Fellowship

In April, IPAM Trustee Tatiana Toro was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship.  The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation awarded 173 Fellowships to 175 scholars, artists, and scientists. A Tatiana Toro photototal of 18 fellowships were awarded in the natural sciences category.  Appointed on the basis of prior achievement and exceptional promise, the successful candidates were chosen from a group of over 3,100 applicants.

Tatiana Toro is the Robert R. & Elaine F. Phelps Professor in Mathematics at the University of Washington. Her research focuses on geometric measure theory, harmonic analysis, and partial differential equations. She has been a member of IPAM’s Board of Trustees since 2009, and was the lead organizer of the 2015 Latinos in the Mathematical Sciences Conference.
