Anna Ma

On January 17, 2014, nine RIPS-LA and RIPS-Hong Kong students presented five posters at the MAA Undergraduate Poster Session at the Joint Math Meetings. Two of the posters won Outstanding Presentation Awards. Anna Ma (UCLA) and Yang Hu (CSU San Marcos) won for their poster, Linking Social Media to Crime and Disorder, which was sponsored by the Los Angeles Police Department. Additionally, Christopher Rackauckas (Oberlin College) was recognized for his poster presentation entitled Doubly Ensemble Movie Prediction With Social Media Data Using TBEEF. This project, sponsored by Baidu, was part of the RIPS-Hong Kong program. A team of four students plus an academic mentor contributed to each project. Congratulations!
