Abstract

Steiner Polynomials, Wulff Flows, and Curvature Inequalities for Convex Plane Curves

Mark Green

University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)

This talk will provide an introduction to some of the interesting questions in the geometry of convex bodies, and in particular normal and Wulff flows, the fact that the volume of a convex body in R^n under these flows grows polynomially in time with coefficients that are various total curvature integrals on the boundary. The goal of the talk is, with this as background, to explain some rather unexpected curvature inequalities proved in joint work with Osher.
