IPAM To Host Public Lecture on Sustainable Energy

On Monday, November 4, Dr. Emily Carter, Founding Director of the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment at Princeton University, will give an IPAM public lecture. The title of her talk is “Quantum Mechanics and the Future of the Planet.” She will describe the essential role of quantum mechanics in the quest for sustainable energy and her research on energy systems such as fuel cells and fusion reactors. The talk is part of the “Mathematics of Planet Earth” lecture series sponsored by the Simons Foundation.  For more information, consult the webpage for this event.
