National Academy of Science Announces new Members

On April 27, 2020, the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) announced the election of 120 new members and 26 international members. These distinguished members are recognized for their achievements in original research. IPAM is proud to announce the following affiliates elected this year.
- Arkadi Nemirouski (Georgia Institute of Technology), organizer for IPAM’s 2010 long program, Modern Trends in Optimization and its Application and speaker for IPAM’s 2010 workshop on Numerical Methods for Continuous Optimization.
- Giulia Galli (University of Chicago), organizer and core participant of IPAM’s 2013 long program Materials for a Sustainable Energy Future and organizer for IPAM’s 2013 workshop on Energy Conservation and Waste Heat Recovery.
- Ofer Zeitouni (Weizmann Institute of Science), speaker for numerous IPAM workshops, including IPAM’s 2018 workshop on Random Matrices and Free Probability Theory and for IPAM’s upcoming 2020 Workshop on Stochastic Analysis Related to Hamilton-Jacobi PDEs.
- Gerard Ben Arous (New York University), speaker for IPAM’s 2019 workshop on Using Physical Insights for Machine Learning.
