Stanley Osher gave one of two inaugural lectures at Harvard’s Center for Mathematical Sciences and Applications entitled “What Sparsity and L¹ Optimization Can Do for You” on April 10, 2014 to an audience of about 100. Osher is IPAM’s Director of Special Projects and a member of the applied math faculty at UCLA.
