SIAM Announces 2020 Fellows

The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) has announced the 2020 Class of SIAM Fellows. 28 esteemed members of the SIAM community were nominated by their peers and chosen for their exemplary research as well as outstanding service to the community. We would like to congratulate the following IPAM affiliates who are among the nominees:
- Ronnie Sircar (Princeton University), organizer and speaker for numerous IPAM workshops, including speaker for IPAM’s upcoming 2020 workshop on Mean Field Games and Applications
- Kristin E. Lauter (Microsoft Research), keynote speaker for IPAM’s 2019 workshop on Women in Mathematics and Public Policy and organizer and speaker for many IPAM workshops, including IPAM’s 2016 workshop on Algebraic Geometry for Coding Theory and Cryptography
- Yalchin Efendiev (Texas A&M University), core participant in IPAM’s 2017 spring long program, Computational Issues in Oil Field Applications, speaker for numerous IPAM workshops including IPAM’s 2017 workshop on Multiphysics, Multiscale, and Coupled Problems in Subsurface Physics, which he also organized
- Knut-Andreas Lie (SINTEF), core participant in IPAM’s 2017 spring long program, Computational Issues in Oil Field Applications, speaker for numerous IPAM workshops including IPAM’s 2017 workshop on Multiphysics, Multiscale, and Coupled Problems in Subsurface Physics, which he also organized
- George Haller (ETH Zürich), speaker for IPAM’s 2014 workshop on Turbulent Transport and Mixing
- Kavita Ramanan (Brown University), speaker for IPAM’s 2012 workshop on Mathematical Challenges in Graphical Models and Message-Passing Algorithms and for IPAM’s upcoming 2020 workshop on Mean Field Games and Applications
