Ionic Liquids for Carbon Capture.

Bill Schneider
University of Notre Dame

Solar fuels based on carbon need a carbon source, and CO2 from combustion is a prime candidate. The energy cost to separate CO2 from a flue gas mixture is non-negligible. This talk will describe recent computational and experimental efforts to design efficient, ionic-liquid-based, CO2 capture materials from first principles, as well as future challenges.
