Topology and material optimization problems with stress constraints

The goal of the talk is to find a formulation of the topology optimization (TO) and free material optimization (FMO) problem with local stress constraints that would be computationally tractable and would lead to reasonable and expected results. After introducing the mathematical model of the TO and FMO problems (a nonlinear semidefinite optimization problem) I will compare different approaches to the numerical treatment of the stress constraints. The talk will be concluded by numerical examples.
