Biological mechanisms for exploiting chemical diversity

Biomolecules excel at recognizing their favorite targets from a variety present in solution. This capability is essential to any-and-every physiological process and biochemical reaction. Here I’ll summarize the progress we have made and the challenges that remain in deciphering the molecular details underlying ion selectivity.
