Weinan EWeinan E will receive the Peter Henrici Prize at the 9th International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM 2019) July 15-19, 2019 in Valencia, Spain. E was chosen for “breakthrough contributions in various field of applied mathematics and scientific computing, particularly nonlinear stochastic (partial) differential equations (PDEs), computational fluid dynamics, computational chemistry, and machine learning.” He is a professor at Princeton’s Department of Mathematics and the Program in Applied and Computational Mathematics, and he has been greatly involved with IPAM as an organizer and speaker for numerous IPAM programs, including speaking at IPAM’s upcoming spring 2020 workshop, High Dimensional Hamilton-Jacobi Methods in Differential Games.

The Peter Henrici Prize is awarded for “contributions to applied analysis and numerical analysis and/or for exposition appropriate for applied mathematics and scientific computing.” It is presented every four years by SIAM and ETH Zurich. The prize honors Peter Henrici, a Swiss numerical analyst and teacher at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule-Zürich (ETH Zurich) for 25 years.

Congratulations to Weinan E on this great achievement!
