On the Macroscopic Modeling of Crowd

Rinaldo Colombo
University of Brescia

This presentation overviews some recently introduced macroscopic models for crowd dynamics, in the various cases of a single population, several populations or agents-population interactions. Their analytical properties are introduced, with a brief account of the analytical techniques involved. Then, with the help of numerical integrations, a few qualitative properties of the possible evolutions described by these models are shown. Particular emphasis is given to the formation of patterns, such as lanes.
