Statistical Methods for High-Throughput Genetic Studies and Applications

Iuliana Ionita

Advances in high-throughput genetic technologies allow for the first time a thorough investigation of the influence of both rare and common genetic variation on complex phenotypes. The next-generation association studies present important statistical and computational challenges and opportunities. In this talk I will discuss several aspects of sequence-based association studies, including study-design issues, novel genetic association tests, methods to identify causal variants, and show applications to both Mendelian and complex traits.
